Barn Cleaning

We’ve been cleaning the barn this weekend, and all of our discounted bottom bales were picked up before we even posted them for sale. Now that everything is cleaned and sorted, with one final pre-paid order set aside on pallets, we have 60 remaining bales for sale. 51 of these bales are from the 2010 hay season, with 25% alfalfa, and they are very tight and heavy bales — a great value. The other 9 are second cutting hay from this season, but it’s not a big enough lot for premium pricing. All are $5 each.

We are hoping to get these picked up right away so we can finish cleaning, so contact us if you would like to order.

2011 Inventory Update

Thank you for a great 2011 hay season! We added a large number of repeat customers, and our family is grateful for your business.

We are now sold out of premium quality horse hay for the season. Once all of our pre-paid orders have been picked up and delivered, we will post the quantity of bottom bales available for sale at a substantial discount to market prices. Stay tuned.

We are also excited to announce that we have more than tripled our hay acreage for the coming 2012 season, and our farm is covered with tiny sprouts of timothy hay and other premium hay crops. Again, stay tuned for more information as we prepare for next year.

We baled and barn-stored 520 bales of our second cutting on July 15th. Half of these bales are pre-sold, so be sure to call your order in early. The hay was cut Wednesday morning and had 2 excellent drying days with high heat, low humidity, and no rain. The bales are standard small squares; weigh 50 pounds; approximately 75% alfalfa content with timothy and orchard grasses. Price is $6.00 per bale for pickup at our farm near Rushville; $7.00 per bale for small quantity pickup at our Fishers location.
